Educational Structure
The Mobile Infirmary Internal Medicine Residency Program follows a 4+2 block schedule, designed to provide a balanced, comprehensive education in Internal Medicine. This model offers four weeks of inpatient or subspecialty rotations followed by two weeks of dedicated ambulatory training in the Mobile Infirmary Internal Medicine Clinic. The structure minimizes conflict between inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, allowing residents to focus intently on each area of learning.
Longitudinal Electives & Mentorship
During ambulatory blocks, residents can personalize their training through longitudinal electives. These electives offer unique learning experiences and the opportunity to build long-term mentoring relationships with faculty. This individualized approach helps residents shape their future practice and cultivate professional growth in their areas of interest.
Technology & Documentation
Epic is Infirmary Health’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), providing a robust and user-friendly platform that enhances continuity of care and supports efficient clinical documentation.
