Temporary Visitor Policy 

In concordance with Governor Ivey’s Safer at Home Order, beginning Monday, March 8, Infirmary Health has modified its hospital visitor policy. Each patient will be permitted two visitors or two caregivers at one time in patient rooms (exceptions apply). Visitors will be required to adhere to the following guidelines and those who do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted.

All visitors will be required to be masked and have their temperature screened upon entrance.
Visitors should maintain hand hygiene and appropriate social distancing and should remain in the patient’s room. Clergy are allowed visitation upon request. Cafeterias will be available to visitors for to-go service only.

Visitor Hours at Mobile Infirmary, Infirmary Long Term Acute Care Hospital, Thomas Hospital, North Baldwin Infirmary and Oakwood Center for Living are as follows:
• Non-ICU: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• ICU/LTACH: 9 – 11 a.m. & 4 – 6 p.m.
• Senior Behavioral Health Visitation will be permitted by appointment only
• For COVID-19 positive patients, no visitors unless it is an end-of-life situation or special circumstances as approved by Hospital Leadership
• No overnight visitation is allowed unless approved by hospital leadership.

Visitor hours at J.L. Bedsole/Rotary Rehabilitation Hospital and Colony Rehabilitation Hospital
• Monday – Saturday 4 – 6 p.m, Sunday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Rotary Rehabilitation
• Two visitors per patient.
Labor & Delivery
• Two support people per patient.
Nursery
• Mother of patient and one support person.
Pediatrics
• Two parents or guardians at all times.
Outpatient Procedures
• One visitor is allowed for outpatient procedures
Emergency Departments
• One visitor will be allowed once the patient has been assigned in room.
Surgical Procedures
• One caregiver (meeting the above requirements) may accompany the patient to assist with entry into the hospital and registration.
End-of-Life Guidance/Inpatient Hospice
• For non-COVID-19 patients in which death is reasonably anticipated within 24-48 hours, two caregivers (meeting the above requirements) will be allowed at the bedside.
- Caregivers may rotate with other caregivers.
- Caregivers will be required to follow all instructions from clinical staff related to hand washing, PPE, entry/exit, length of time with patient, etc.

Dining

Due to COVID-19, the cafeterias at Mobile Infirmary, Thomas Hospital and North Baldwin Infirmary are allowing visitors to purchase food to-go only.

Financial assistance

Gift Shop

Gaillard's Gift Shop

Gaillard’s Gift Shop in the atrium of Mobile Infirmary offers unique gift items along with plants, flowers, cards, baby items and toiletries. Room delivery is available upon request by calling 251-435-4438. Learn more and shop online here.

Thomas Hospital Gift Shop

The Thomas Hospital Gift Shop is located just inside the main entrance of the hospital and offers plants, flowers, cards, collectibles, jewelry, baby items and toiletries.

  • Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

The Gift Box 

The Gift Box in the front lobby of North Baldwin Infirmary offers many items including cards, gifts, jewelry, baby items and toiletries. Profits from the Gift Box are used by the Auxiliary to fund special projects.

Hours 

  • Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

LifeSouth Community Blood Center

Infirmary Health partners with LifeSouth Community Blood Center. Blood donated through LifeSouth stays in our community to meet the needs of our local hospitals.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and show photo I.D. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment for the blood drives.

Pastoral services

Mobile Infirmary

The chapel, located on the first floor near the front lobby, is open at all times for meditation and worship. Chapel service is held each Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

For a visit from the chaplain or a clergy member while you’re in the hospital, contact the hospital chaplain at ext. 4003. Contact the Guestline at ext. 2020 for a Bible to be delivered to your room.

Thomas Hospital

Caring, trained ministers/chaplains are available to you and your family for spiritual support. If you would like to see a minister/chaplain, please dial 0, and the operator will be able to assist you.

Bibles are available for any patient or family member. If you would like a Bible, please request one from the nurse on duty. The hospital chapel is located on the second floor for your convenience.

North Baldwin Infirmary

The hospital has a list of ministers of different denominations who are available for your needs. Ask your nurse for additional information.

Valet parking

Due to COVID-19, the valet parking at Mobile Infirmary and  Thomas Hospital is temporarily suspended.
