Community
As Alabama's largest non-governmental, not-for-profit healthcare system, Infirmary Health’s passion is to care for its community. Whether through serving the Gulf Coast’s immediate healthcare needs or supporting other not-for-profit organizations and drives for a healthier community, we are committed to ensuring that our community is as healthy and whole as possible. Infirmary Health's vision is to be the FIRST CHOICE for healthcare on the Gulf Coast, and that will be accomplished through implementation of its mission of LIFE: Leadership. Integrity. Family. Excellent Service.
iHelp: Our Way of Giving Back to You
Infirmary Health’s iHelp program allows the organization to both physically and fiscally partner with the community to positively impact wellbeing in the region. There are many health needs in the community that cannot be resolved simply through the provision of basic healthcare services. Instead, a healthy community is achieved through community engagement to ensure that community health problems are identified and addressed. iHelp serves as the platform for Infirmary Health to give back by financially supporting its community partners and providing opportunities for in-kind and volunteer resources by the Infirmary Health team and affiliates.
Community needs within Mobile and Baldwin Counties are identified through periodic community health needs assessments (CHNAs). Through comprehensive and specific polling of the community, as well as in-depth studies of community demographics and medical incidents, overall health needs of the community are determined. The CHNA provides a comprehensive picture of the healthcare opportunities in our communities and allows us to tailor our charitable giving and community outreach efforts.
Funding and Grants
Organizations may submit grant requests directly to Infirmary Health here.
Those organizations applying for funding should submit the application by the first of the month to be considered for a grant that month. The Infirmary Health iHelp committee meets monthly to consider grants. Grant applicants will be notified of the committee's decision after each monthly meeting. Each grant submission is given full consideration by the committee for how much it helps the community and betters community health based on the needs outlined in our current CHNA.
