Infirmary Cancer Care expands with a multidisciplinary clinic aimed at treating patients with rectal cancer.
The clinic delivers comprehensive patient care through a team-based approach. Specialists will provide a coordinated process from diagnosis to treatment. The goal is to reduce delays and provide patients with a plan for care that is offered on the same day.
Patients can expect to meet with their colorectal surgeon, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist and leave that visit with a treatment plan.
Issac Payne, D.O., colorectal surgical oncologist at Infirmary Health, explains why multidisciplinary clinics are crucial for our community.
“A multidisciplinary clinic transforms both the delivery of care and the patient experience by expediting care with the goal of improving outcomes,” Payne said. “It creates a cohesive, clear strategy by bringing together all the experts that will work together on the patient’s behalf.”
In August 2025, Infirmary Cancer Care opened the breast multidisciplinary clinic, which serves patients seeking breast cancer care.
To schedule an appointment, call (251) 435-CARE (2273). The multidisciplinary clinic is located inside Mobile Infirmary on the third floor at 3 Mobile Infirmary Circle in Mobile.
