Infirmary Health hosts open house for new Saraland Surgery Center

Infirmary Health welcomed community members to the new Saraland Surgery Center for an open house event.

Infirmary Health leadership, Saraland city council members, and Mayor Joe McDonald were also in attendance. Guests enjoyed tours of the state-of-the-art facility, a meet and greet with the surgical teams, and an up-close look at the innovative da Vinci Surgical Robot.

The facility is the first outpatient surgery center in Alabama to utilizes the da Vinci robot on site for general surgery. The robot allows doctors to perform minimally invasive procedures controlled by the surgeon, which leads to better precision and faster recovery for patients.

After completing its first procedures in June, the center marked another milestone in July when Dr. Clayton Lane of Gulf Orthopaedics performed the center’s inaugural specialty surgery.

The center provides patients with a convenient and efficient setting for a wide range of procedures including orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, pain management, and gastroenterology. Future services include plastic surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), and ophthalmology.

The center is approximately 23,500 square feet including four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. It is located at 75 Shell Street in Saraland off the I-65 interstate. For more information, visit infirmaryhealth.org.
