Mobile Infirmary is proud to announce that its Emergency Department has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 Lantern Award by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). This honor acknowledges the department's exceptional leadership, innovative practices, commitment to education, and advocacy in emergency nursing.

The ENA Lantern Award is presented annually to emergency departments nationwide that demonstrate excellence in five key areas: leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research. Mobile Infirmary's Emergency Department stood out for its dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment for its staff.

"We are deeply honored to receive the ENA Lantern Award," said Ursula Lawrence, vice president and chief nursing officer at Mobile Infirmary. "This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire emergency department team. Their commitment to excellence ensures that our community receives the best possible care during critical times."

Mobile Infirmary's Emergency Department has consistently implemented evidence-based practices, invested in ongoing staff education, and engaged in community outreach to improve patient outcomes. The department's collaborative approach and focus on continuous improvement have set a benchmark for emergency care in the region.

The ENA Lantern Award is a three-year designation, after which departments are eligible to reapply. Mobile Infirmary's Emergency Department plans to continue its pursuit of excellence and looks forward to further enhancing its services for the Mobile community.
