Odds Are Alabama: Infirmary Health joins statewide organizations for a year-long Fentanyl awareness campaign
Infirmary Health joins several statewide organizations to share the importance of the recently launched “Odds Are Alabama" year-long campaign to bring awareness to Alabamians on the dangers and prevalence of illicit Fentanyl.
According to the Alabama Hospital Association, Odds Are Alabama will not only heighten awareness of the dangers, but it will also provide critical information regarding help for those with substance use disorders, along with information about medication that can reverse an overdose and strips to test drugs for Fentanyl.
In a press conference, Dr. Scott Harris, State Public Health Officer, said “Alabama has seen a tremendous increase in opioid overdoses over the last several years. With about two-thirds of all overdoses nationwide attributed to synthetic drugs like Fentanyl, it’s obvious why the need for this campaign is so great.”
Because of the vital importance of this campaign, Infirmary Health will be sharing information from Odds Are Alabama, while encouraging the community to educate themselves and their loved ones.
