About Matthew

Dr. Michael Skinner is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in arthroscopic and open sports medicine surgery, trauma surgery, as well as hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Skinner went on to complete a fellowship in arthroscopic and open sports medicine procedures, trauma surgery, and joint replacement at Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Originally from the Southeast, Dr. Skinner holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Samford University, where he graduated magna cum laude with minors in bioinformatics and biology. He has contributed to multiple research projects in orthopaedic surgery and remains committed to advancing patient care through both clinical practice and academic involvement.
