About John

John W. Boyer, M.D. was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Boyer received his medical doctorate from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Hobart Armory Hare Honor Medical Society. While at the University of Hawaii, Dr. Boyer completed a five-year surgical residency. Dr. Boyer completed a two-year residency in thoracic surgery at The Texas Heart Institute under the direction of Dr. Denton Cooley. Dr. Boyer is board-certified in general and thoracic surgery.
