Infirmary Neurosurgery provides a full range of diagnostic services and treatment for neurologic conditions including brain tumors, complex and degenerative spine issues and trauma.

Clinical specialties include complex spine surgery, cervical disc replacements, minimally invasive spine surgery as well as fusions, disorders of the pituitary gland, tumors in and around the brain or spinal cord, stereotactic surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.

About Dr. Gordon:
Amber S. Gordon, M.D., graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Gordon completed her residency in both general surgery and neurological surgery at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where she also served as chief resident of neurological surgery. Dr. Gordon specializes in surgery and treatment of the brain, spine & peripheral nerve disorders.

About Dr. Nakhla:

Jonathan Nakhla, MD received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida in Economics and Chemistry, and he earned his medical doctorate from Duke University's School of Medicine. While at Duke, he researched pediatric brain tumors and published his work in the International Journal of Oncology.  Dr. Nakhla completed a neurological surgery internship, residency and chief residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.  During his training, he studied minimally invasive spinal surgery and adult spinal deformity at the New York Presbyterian Hospital with Cornell University.  After completing residency, he completed a subspecialty fellowship in complex spinal oncology and reconstruction at Brown University in Rhode Island.

Dr. Nakhla specializes in the medical and surgical management and treatment of disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.  His subspecialty interests include the treatment of complex degenerative, traumatic and neoplastic diseases of the spine. He combines his training in minimally invasive surgery and spinal oncology with the existing infrastructure for advanced intra-operative image guidance technology to offer innovative surgical treatment options to patients with all aspects of spine pathologies.

About Dr. Ronderos:
Juan F. Ronderos, M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon with advanced training in complex spinal surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama and completed his residency training in neurosurgery at Tulane University in New Orleans, La. Dr. Ronderos completed a complex spine fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. Dr. Ronderos has special interests in the treatment of spinal injuries and other neurological disorders. He specializes in complex spine surgery and the treatment of brain and spine tumors. Dr. Ronderos has expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery and is fluent in Spanish.
