In line with its mission to be the Gulf Coast’s FIRST CHOICE for cancer care, Infirmary Health is excited to announce the addition of Rodney P. Dr. Rocconi will establish his practice with Diagnostic & Medical Clinic at ICC while also serving as professor of gynecologic oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), the only National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in Alabama.

“This dual appointment will allow me to serve in a leadership role at ICC as well as enhance cancer clinical trials to collectively provide the best care possible for all cancer patients in the Gulf Coast region,” said Rocconi. With his arrival, ICC will provide its patients with a top-tier gynecologic oncology program.

Dr. Rocconi completed his medical doctorate and gynecologic oncology fellowship at UAB. He has been recognized for his work as a recipient of the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation Ovarian Cancer Research Award, the Gynecologic Oncology Group Young Investigator Research Award and an invited Associate Member of the NCI Early Detection Research Network.

Collectively, these experiences have allowed Rocconi to serve in numerous national leadership roles in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), NRG Oncology Cooperative Group, National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), as well as chair multiple Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Research Program sections. In recognition of his accomplishments in oncology, he was selected to participate in the ASCO Leadership Development Program.
