Mobile, Ala. – Infirmary Health is excited to be the first healthcare system in the region to offer a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Apprenticeship Program in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College.

Infirmary Health is eager to launch this progressive program which will compensate eligible students for their work and clinical hours completed through the apprenticeship. Upon graduating the program, students will be able to join the Infirmary Health team as a full-time staff member and will have the hands-on experience needed to succeed in their nursing career.

“Programs like this one help us in addressing the need for additional healthcare staff in our communities,” said Sheila Young, SVP Human Resources for Infirmary Health. “Our goal is to ease the financial burden of the educational journey by compensating the students along the way. We are thankful for the support of Coastal Alabama Community College and the Alabama Board of Nursing to make this program a reality.”

The Infirmary Health/Coastal Alabama Community College LPN Apprenticeship Program, funded by Infirmary Foundation, will launch in the Summer 2022 semester. To learn more or to apply, visit coastalalabama.edu.
