Jason Determann, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon, recently spoke on Fox 10 News's Making Rounds segment about new technology at Mobile Infirmary and Thomas Hospital that is helping doctors perform more precise knee and other joint replacement surgeries. Since becoming available in April, this has already assisted surgeons in over 100 cases for patients with a need for joint replacement.

"There's a lot of evidence showing us how finely precise we can be using these robotic techniques. And the VELYS™ System we use at Thomas Hospital and Mobile Infirmary has the accuracy and precision to a half degree, to half a millimeter. We're able to use that technology to truly customize that replacement to that individual."

Patients who believe they may be a candidate for a total knee replacement using the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution can visit InfirmaryHealth.org for more information.
