About Joanne

Dr. Joanne Baird is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Baird received her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed her internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. During her 12-year medical career in the U.S. Navy, LCDR Baird received extensive training in combat care and surgery, held leadership roles, including chief of orthopaedic surgery, and received multiple awards including the Naval Commendation Medal for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service in 2019. She began her practice in Baldwin County in 2020 following the completion of a fellowship in sports medicine at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL.

Dr. Baird is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Trauma Association and Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Baird, an athlete herself, has served as team physician to Elberta High School as well as with college and high school football teams in Tuskegee, AL and Crestview, FL and the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team.
