Breast Care

Early detection is the best way for women to improve the success of treatment for breast cancer. To help women make screening a priority, we offer five convenient clinic locations that make it possible to have a mammogram on the way to and from work or school.

Accredited by the American College of Radiology, we provide state-of-the-art technology for screening or diagnostic tests including:

  • Screening and diagnostic mammography
  • High-definition ultrasound
  • Breast biopsies
  • Breast cyst aspiration
  • Galactogram (X-ray of milk ducts)

Radiologists are available to read mammograms and consult with patients undergoing diagnostic tests. Patients having screening mammograms receive written results through the mail.

3D Mammography Now Available at Mobile Infirmary

The Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exam allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. So, instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below. This cutting-edge technology is now available at the Breast Center at Mobile Infirmary. Click here to read more information or call 251-435-2453 to make an appointment.

Breast Cancer Treatment Education Brochure

Pursuant to Breast Cancer Education Act of 2013 (Act 2013-284) the Alabama Department of Public Health has developed this informational summary regarding breast cancer treatment options for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. Physicians are then required to disseminate the summary to breast cancer patients.

The summary includes an explanation of the various methods of treating breast cancer, breast reconstruction alternatives, and insurance coverage availability for these treatments.

The information is not intended to replace the advice or recommendations of a patient's physician. Rather it is a resource to help patients learn about breast cancer treatment so that they can make the best choices regarding their own treatment plan.
