Bump & Beyond - Meet Sarah Mallonee

Bump & Beyond - Meet Sarah Mallonee

Hi! My name is Sarah Mallonee, and I am a childbirth educator with Infirmary Health. I am a Mobile native, and I attended the University of South Alabama. Go Jags! As a teenager, I volunteered in labor and delivery, and l found a passion for nursing. I got my bachelors in nursing and have been working in women’s health ever since. As a nurse, I have worked in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and in gynecologic surgery. To say I am devoted to women’s health would be an understatement. I delivered my daughter in February 2022, so pregnancy and the newborn stage is pretty fresh for me. I am also proud to say that I am still on my breastfeeding journey with my daughter. It has been a roller coaster adjusting to being a mom. Some days I feel amazing, like I’m really good at this “being a mom thing,” and other days I feel grateful to have made it through the day!

I wanted to start this blog with Infirmary Health to continue educating our patients about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Since having my daughter, I found myself googling a lot. I was prepared for my own pregnancy from working with women and newborns, but I found there was so much I didn’t know until I experienced it myself. I imagine other parents have been googling a lot about themselves and their babies too. Maybe Google led you here to me!

I want to provide you with reliable information so you can make the best choices for your health and your baby’s health. It truly takes a village to raise children, and I am privileged to be able to share my experience. I like to think that by working with and educating parents I get to be a part of your village.

In this blog, you can expect posts about navigating the pre-natal and postpartum periods, what you need to bring to the hospital and what to expect once you head home. I am excited to share this information with you! Thank you for reading!
