Friday, September 23, 2016

Mobile, Ala.—Infirmary Health broke ground in Saraland, Ala., on Aug. 19 with construction of a new 68,000 sq. ft. medical complex. Infirmary Medical Plaza is scheduled to open in late 2017. The state-of-the-art facility will be located on Shell St., on the northwest side of the intersection of I-65 and Hwy. 158.

“This new medical facility will offer Saraland and neighboring communities the care they expect closer to where they live and work.” explained Mark Nix, President and CEO of Infirmary Health. “People want the convenience of having advanced medical care close to home and this initial phase of a new medical campus, conveniently located with easy access to Saraland and northern Mobile County does just that.”

Residents in Saraland and surrounding communities will have access to laboratory and imaging services, along with subspecialty care with convenient easy access. There will also be additional space on campus for physician practices.

“Saraland is absolutely thrilled to welcome the new Infirmary Medical Campus to our community.  The outstanding medical services that this facility will make available locally will be greatly appreciated by the citizens of Saraland and all North Mobile residents.  We look forward to the continued growth and development of this wonderful complex,” said Mayor Rubenstein.

The ground breaking featured short presentations by representatives from the city of Saraland, the Mobile County Commission and Mark Nix, President and CEO of Infirmary Health and the ceremonial turning of the shovel by those closely involved with the project.
